New National children‘s hospital Blato – Project Management
The new National children‘s hospital Blato will extend to 53,000 Gross square meters after the first phase. Meanwhile, phase 2 of the hospital is under constant consideration. It is a hospital of great importance and is positioned to mean a lot to all Croatian citizens.
It is still necessary to resolve the property and legal status with the City of Zagreb for the land on which the hospital will be built, to contract the delivery of geothermal water for heating and cooling with the concessionaire because that water is in concession, and this will be the first “carbon Zero neutral” hospital in Europe.
Almost all energy, or more than 80 percent will come from renewable sources, partly from solar sources, but also much from geothermal sources abundant in the location where the hospital will be built, said the contracted project manager Sasa Marenjak.
Marenjak said that the entire scope of the children‘s hospital in Klaiceva street and paediatrics from the sister of Mercy‘s hospital will be transferred to the new hospital in the first phase, while in the second phase the entire scope of Kukuljevic‘s, Goljak‘s and the gynecology department from Merkur‘s KB was envisaged.
